How washing your face and shaving go hand in hand

Apr 14, 2022

One of the most essential elements when it comes to shaving is properly washing your face. It goes without saying that washing your face should be an integral part of your grooming routine, but today we’ll discuss the important role that sanitation plays when it comes to avoiding disease and irritation while shaving.

The first step when it comes to ensuring that your face is properly prepared for shaving is not using generic bar soap. Most bar soap removes the natural oils that your skin produces and dries it out. Using products without fragrances or dyes will drastically improve your skin and also act as a moisturizer. Products like Cetaphil will help you achieve this!

As we’ve discussed in previous blog posts, proper shaving technique is essential when it comes to maintaining your skin's health. Shaving incorrectly can cause skin irritation and open wounds which can possibly lead to infection. So all always make sure you’re shaving properly, changing your blades frequently, and using an alcohol free aftershave.

Lastly, don’t forget to moisturize! Using moisturizer will keep the skin healthy and also prevent wrinkles. Be sure to use a moisturizer that has SPF in it so you can also prevent sun damage to the skin. While frequent shaving is important, it can also dry out the skin. Moisturizing is something that men especially tend to not think about, so be sure to add it into your routine.

These simple yet crucial steps will help keep your skin looking fresh and youthful! As always, be sure to do your research before purchasing products to make sure you’re getting a quality product.
